Twenty Years, Six Studio Albums, One Last Time. The Beatings FINAL Show Teaser

From the Desk of Management,

Its been two decades since the release of The Beatings first EP, 6Hz, which we released on our own Midriff Records label. Since 1999 we presented 5 more collections for your listening pleasure, saw you on lots of national tours, made tons of new friends and its been a real blast for all involved.

But 20 years seems like a respectable shelf life for any band and the timing seems right to officially call it a day. This DIY band is done. So we guess this statement acts as both an end of hiatus and break up notification because there will be one last opportunity for us to see it all come to a close together.

Save the date: The last Beatings performance will be Saturday May 18, 2019 at our home away from home, Great Scott in Allston, MA. All the stuff is coming out that night. Its gonna be a hoot.

We want to thank everyone who supported us these last 20 years. The radio and press folk, the booking agents, Justin who designed our album covers, our family who came out to shows, the producers/studios/engineers/mastering people who made us sound better than we actually do, the sound people at the clubs, Clayton and Mike and everyone who came through Midriff Records and pushed us and dealt with all the stuff we didn't want to deal with, Remco Press which has far better sleeping arrangements than you'd expect from a print shop, everyone who came out to shows and everyone who put us up on tours. Timing is everything and as usual we've probably overstayed our welcome. But on behalf of Tony, Dennis, Erin and Greg, I want to thank you for having us. It's meant the world to us.

Expect a good deal of sentimentality and nostalgia over the next few months leading up to the show in May on this page. We'll be starting rehearsals for the show this winter and Midriff will continue to operate as it always has. After May we'll all be going off to pursue other loves, projects and interests. So, we'll all be around in one form or another.

Tickets will be available at the Great Scott site at http://greatscottboston.com/ . So in short, the last show is Saturday May 18 2019 at Great Scott. Thanks everybody. Lets finish it together.

Welcome to the country.
- Cameron.
